Support Overview
Who we support
We support young people aged between 6 years and 35 years. Our services are suitable for all young people, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (all levels), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, Depression, or other emotional, behavioural and social concerns. The benefits of the support we provide to young people naturally extend to families.
Focus areas of the support we provide
We provide both individual and group participation support. Support goals and support-delivery strategies are commonly focused on assisting young people to meet their social and emotional developmental milestones, and be building the characteristics of resiliency and independency. Common focus areas of support include:
Building, or rebuilding, a capacity to participate in trust relationships.
Support to re-engage and/or maintain engagement with school and be learning.
Building and keeping friendships.
Development of a personal toolbox to be used to contribute to the regulation of thoughts, feelings and behaviours – and the management of stress, worry or anxiety.
Being active and participating in community activities.
Identifying and developing special talents.
Successfully transitioning through life-cycle stages/tasks such as adolescence, graduating from primary school to middle school, leaving school for further education or employment.
How we provide support
Support is framed within an Individual Support Plan which identifies support goals, actions to be taken to achieve these goals, and indicators of success. Support Plans are created in consultation with parents or other primary caregivers, the young person, and other associated service providers. If applicable, an Individual Support Plan will also incorporate goals described in a NDIS Plan. Individual support is general facilitated through a mentoring framework. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, as ascribed for young people, is available.
