PEERS® for Older Adults (26+ Years)
Both programs are comprised of 16 x 1.5-hour group sessions. Participants learn and rehearse a range of important age-related social skills and topics, including:
Using appropriate conversational skills
Choosing appropriate friends
Developing and maintaining friendships
Appropriately using electronic forms of communication
Appropriately using humour and assessing humour feedback
Starting, entering, and exiting conversations appropriately
Organising successful get-togethers with friends
Developing romantic relationships and the use of appropriate dating etiquette
Appropriately handling arguments and disagreements
Handling rejection, teasing, bullying (direct/indirect), and rumours/gossip
When considered beneficial, the content of the PEERS® Program for Young or Older Adults can be delivered in a one-to-one setting.
